Median A Term You Need to Know

The median is a measure of central tendency in statistics that represents the middle value of a data set when the values are ordered from least to greatest. It is the value that separates the higher half of the data set from the lower half. If the number of observations in the data set is odd, the median is equal to the middle value. If the number of observations is even, the median is the average of the two middle values. The median is considered a robust statistic, meaning that it is not greatly affected by extreme values (outliers) or skewness in the data set. The median is a useful summary statistic for describing the central location of the data, particularly when the data set has multiple modes or is skewed.
